Storytelling performances
Drawing upon early childhood memories of laying my head on grandpa’s big belly while listening to his “cuentos” (stories) during “la siesta” (nap time) on Sunday afternoons, I began to tell stories at age 12. Storytelling has been a pillar of my work as a kindergarten, dance, drama, and foreign language teacher during the last 23 years. Audience participation through movement, call and response, and circular dances is integral to the telling of each story. puppetry and singing is often incorporated. Stories are an inexhaustible fountain of learning and joy, a searing encounter with the spoken word. It is my hope that the images that I strive to create will travel to you “de corazon a corazon” (from heart to heart).
What people say: “Ancient and young tales from around the world, and original ones, are richly told with an age appropriate magical presentation.” “The stories relate to nature as well as to the seasons and festivals. Dance and theme related activities are beautifully integrated.”
Performances are bilingual, English and Spanish or in one language if preferred. For best accomodations of your needs please book well in advance.
